In the fall of 2011, five seasoned bluegrass musicians got together for a casual jam session. It quickly became apparent that they were onto something pretty special. By the end of the evening, a new bluegrass band was born. And since two of the group lived in Virginia's Northern Neck and the other three hailed from across the historic Rappahannock River in the Middle Peninsula, Rappahannock Crossing seemed like a fitting name. Two of those founding members have moved on but their replacements have helped the band climb higher and higher. The core values of the band - honor for the bluegrass tradition, originality and dedication to the craft - remain just as it was on that first night in 2011.
